Profile of Super Junior

Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어), also known as simply SJ or SuJu (Korean: 슈주), is a thirteen-member Korean boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2005, masterminded by Lee Soo Man. The group initially debuted with twelve members on November 6, 2005 with the single, "TWINS (Knock Out)". The original twelve members, from oldest to youngest, are Leeteuk (the leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-In, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kibum. The Chinese member, Han Geng, was chosen among the 3,000 applicants through auditions held in China by SM Entertainment in 2001.

Many of the members had already pursued an entertainment career before Super Junior's debut through acting, DJ-ing, and modeling. On May 23, 2006 SM Entertainment announced the addition of a new member, Kyuhyun, making them the thirteen-member group they are today.

Super Junior-K.R.Y

Super Junior-K.R.Y, created in late 2006, is a trio formed by Super Junior members Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung. The label discovered that these three members developed a particular persona and subsequent fan-base that was separate from the rest of the group, and how they also had similar musical qualities. The label therefore grouped these three members together to perform particular songs to target a particular audience. Being amongst the most vocally powerful members of Super Junior, Super Junior-K.R.Y are credited to singing mournful ballads, a style that has proven very popular in recent years although stagnation in the style's development is causing it to lose its once fresh evocative power.

K.R.Y's first official performance was on November 5, 2006 on KBS's Music Bank. They have participated in the original soundtrack of the tvN drama Hyena with a total of three tracks, including the main theme. The trio also contributed tracks in two additional original soundtracks, one track in both the soundtracks of Snow Flower and Billy Jean Look at Me. Unlike Super Junior's second sub-unit, Super Junior-T, K.R.Y has not officially released a single or album, and has only participated in collaboration albums and original soundtracks.

Super Junior-T

In early February SM Entertainment made the official announcement of a second Super Junior subgroup, Super Junior-T. The group released their first radio single on February 23, 2007. A CD single, "Rokuko", was soon released and it topped music charts three days after release. The subgroup's official debut was on February 25, 2007 performing the title track, "Rokuko" and "First Express" with famous trot singer Bang Shil Yi. The single's rankings quickly rose in both Korea and Thailand-based music stations and was #1 on the charts two months later.Due to their active participance in trot music and their comedic appearances, the subgroup gained outstanding attention from the older audience despite their well-known young idol images that was created for them in their mother group.

Super Junior-M

Responding to Super Junior's rising popularity in China, Super Junior's management, SM Entertainment, decided to compose a new Super Junior sub-unit that is to focus entirely in the Chinese market. On October 2, 2007, an official announcement was released to the media, stating the birth of a third Super Junior subgroup that would debut in China. Super Junior's original member, Han Geng and an SM Chinese trainee, Henry, were stated to be the first two of the seven members representing the subgroup.Five months later, a second Super Junior member, Siwon, was mentioned in news articles to be the third member. However, the confirmed list of members were not released to the public until April.

Starting from April 4, 2008 to April 7, 2008, the seven members were released to the media in a chain of trailer clips on different days, introducing the members' versatility. Han Geng was the first member to be announced on April 4.On April 5, Donghae and Siwon were announced to be the second and third members. On April 6, a new member, Henry, was announced to be the fourth Super Junior-M member, following Kyuhyun as the fifth.Rookie Zhou Mi was announced to be the sixth member on April 7 following Ryeowook as the final member.A trailer with of all seven members was released on the group's debut day, April 8. Super Junior-M's trailer clips exceeded 1.4 million views in less than four days.

Before the official name of the subgroup was released, they were often referred to as Super Junior-C, with "C" representing "China". On April 3, 2008, SM Entertainment released the official name of the subgroup, Super Junior-M, with "M" representing the word "Mandarin," expressing the subgroup's ambition to become successful in the Chinese music market not limited to only China. The "M" can also represent a list of other aspects, such as the first letter of their debut album, Me, and also "mi" (Chinese: 迷), which means "fanatic" in Mandarin.

Super Junior-M debuted in China on April 8, 2008 at the 8th annual Light Music Awards and with the release of their first single music video, "U"

Heechul's fracture of the femur from a car accident on August 10, 2006 and the April 19 car accident prevented the group's second official album, Don't Don from being released until September 20, 2007. The group performed their first performance for the album on September 21, 2007, promoting the first single "Don't Don" at KBS's Music Bank. It was their first performance in which the group performed together as thirteen after a whole year. The single rose quickly in music charts a week after release, winning its first recognition, the SBS Popular Songs Mutizen Song, on October 21, 2007 and later on M.NET's M!Countdown, sharing the #1 song of the week along with "Everyday" by V.O.S in November. The group quickly moved to their second single, "Marry U", in November. However, that single did not meet the achievements that "Don't Don" had set.

Within the first three days of release, offline album sales for Don't Don passed the 11,000 unit mark, debuting as #1 in all available offline charts, and was in close competition with Lee Soo Young's Set It Down and Wheesung's eternal essence of music WHEESUNG 5 that were released earlier in September. It finished the September monthly album sales as number one, surpassing both Lee Soo Young and Wheesung. 60,000 units were shipped by the first week of release and additional copies were printed.[28] After three months of release, Don't Don sold 164,058 copies, making it Super Junior's best-selling album. It was also the second best-selling album of 2007, falling 26,940 copies short of SG Wannabe's The Sentimental Chord.

Supported by the release of Don't Don, Super Junior was nominated in seven separate categories at the 2007 M.NET/KM Music Festival that was held on November 17, 2007. Super Junior won three of those categories including Netizen Choice Award and Mobile Popularity, being the biggest winner of the night. The group also won Best Artist of the Year (Daesang), termed by many as the highest recognition of the ceremony. Super Junior collected two more awards on December 14, 2007 at the 2007 Golden Disk Awards, an awards ceremony based on record sales success.[31] Although defeated by SG Wannabe in winning the Daesang, Super Junior won a Bonsang and the TPL Anycall Popularity Award, which were reported as expected wins for the group by the media after the success of Don't Don.

2008: Overseas expansion

On October 2, 2007, SM Entertainment officially announced a third Super Junior sub-unit, Super Junior-M, a subgroup designated for the Chinese market. The announcement of the new sub-unit created a controversy between the fans and the management as fans did not support the management to add new members to the subgroup. A fourth Super Junior sub-unit was created that same year as well to prevent the group from fading away in the Korean music industry since half of the group have pursued their goals to China. With five members from Super Junior-T and Yesung, they formed the subgroup, Super Junior-Happy.

Super Junior's first major tour, The 1st ASIA TOUR - "Super Show, commenced on February 22 to February 24 in Seoul. The tour will cover nine different cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

On August 2, 2008, Super Junior expanded their routes to Genting Highlands, Malaysia, being one of the top guest performers at the MTV Asia Awards 2008 along with other international performing artists such as OneRepublic and the Jabbawockeez. They are the third SM artist to win Favorite Artist Korea at the MTV Asia Awards after Kangta and BoA.

Super Junior's third album comeback

In July 2008, the group announced that Super Junior will end subgroup activities at the end of the year and will come together to prepare for their third studio album, which is slated to release in 2009.

Blue sapphire

The 423 carats (85 g) blueLogan sapphire
Color in gemstones breaks down into three components: huesaturation, and tone. Hue is most commonly understood as the "color" of the gemstone. Saturation refers to the vividness or brightness or "colorfulness" of the hue, and tone is the lightness to darkness of the hue.[3] Blue sapphire exists in various mixtures of its primary (blue) and secondary hues, various tonal levels (shades) and at various levels of saturation (brightness).
Blue sapphires are evaluated based upon the purity of their primary hue. Purpleviolet and green are the normal secondary hues found in blue sapphires.[4] Violet and purple can contribute to the overall beauty of the color, while green is considered a distinct negative. Blue sapphires with no more than 15% violet or purple are generally said to be of fine quality. Blue sapphires with any amount of green as a secondary hue are not considered to be fine quality. Gray is the normal saturation modifier or mask found in blue sapphires. Gray reduces the saturation or brightness of the hue and therefore has a distinctly negative effect.[4]
The color of fine blue sapphires can be described as a vivid medium dark violet to purplish blue where the primary blue hue is at least 85% and the secondary hue no more than 15% without the least admixture of a green secondary hue or a gray mask.[3]

About Younha
Younha (Japanese: ユンナ, Yunna, Korean: Go Youn-ha-고윤하), born April 29, 1988 in Seoul, Korea, is a J-Pop and K-Pop artist. She has made two CDs since 2007 in Korea, "The Perfect Day to Say I Love You" and "Someday", and one CD in Japan, "Go! Younha", but has made many singles. A few of her songs have made it to the "SONGS - Teen's Collection" Collection Album in Japan, as well. Younha is also making her debut as a Japanese actress, starring in a movie called, "Next Sunday", which is planned to be released in April 2009.

Younha started playing the piano at the age of 4. Younha has released seven singles and one album so far, and an eighth single is slated for release in September, 2006. Her first single, "Yubikiri", contains her only two Korean songs, and was used during the J-Drama series Tokyo Wankei. Her third single was the Bleach anime's 3rd ending theme, "Houkiboshi" ("Comet"). Also on the single "Houkiboshi" was the song Omoide ni Dekinai, used as the ending theme to the movie Tenshi ga Orita hi. Younha also acted in the movie Tenshi ga Orita hi. Younha's debut album included the songs Orenji no Hatsukoi and My Lover, both used in the Game Cube game Bleach GC: Tasogare Ni Mamieru Shinigami.

Her single "Te wo Tsunaide" is used as the ending theme for the anime series Jyu Oh Sei. She is relatively new to the J-pop scene and is signed to Sony Records in Japan.

Although she is compared to BoA (because she is a Korean who is active in Japan, speaks Japanese well, and is also one of the few Koreans to rank on the Oricon chart) her style differs greatly in both her music and performance.

Younha also began to compose music recently. The song Kaerimichi released on her sixth single, "My Lover" is the first song released which she wrote the lyrics to and composed the music for. In addition, she composed the music for the song homegirl, released on her single, "Te wo Tsunaide".

Her most recent single, "Ima ga Daisuki (今が大好き)" and its B-side, "Inori", are the opening and ending themes for Shoujo Jang Geum no Yume (Jang Geumi ei Kkoom). Currently, Younha still goes back and forth between Korea and Japan, and she debutted in Korea on 5th October 2006.

Her next single "Hakanaku Tsuyoku" is currently airing as the Opening theme track of Ki-Ba and is releasing on the 17th of January 2007. It includes another track called "Aitai".

Her success in Korea started with her hit song, "Secret Code 486", in 2007. She later wrote a song about her Korean rejections at SM Entertainment, "Audition (Time2Rock)". Youha also remade one of her Japanese hits, "Houkiboushi", into "Hyesung" around this time. Younha has performed with many other Korean artists such as Epik High, K. Will, Bobby Kim, Wheesung, and the Wonder Girls.

Her second Korean album which was released in 2008, was titled "Someday". This album has 17 tracks in total, including two instrumentals. The hit songs, "Telepathy", "Memory feat. Tablo", and "Gossip Boy", are included.

Early Life
Born in South Korea to music loving parents, Younha began to play the piano at the age of 4. She developed an interest in Japanese Drama and began to teach herself Japanese. Before long, she was skilled enough to interpret to her school friends what would happen on Japanese television. What began as an interest in Japanese dramas developed into an interest in Japanese music. At the recommendation of an older student in her school's broadcasting club, she listened to such artists as Utada Hikaru and Misia and soon began to like Japanese music. Younha began to dream about debuting as singer alongside her favorite artists.
